I am a New Media/Web/Print/Screen Designer - I.T. Manager / Desktop Support - Communications … Person, by way of Audio Engineer, Call Center Manager, Help Desk Technician and Waiter at the Olive Garden, just for good measure.

I work for Morning Star Community Church in a kind of largely non-defined role that encompasses just about anything you can think of. I’m pretty sure that I’ve even moved furniture, and done gardening in between server backups and website updates. That being said, what a great job! I’m kind of all over the place so it never gets boring, that’s for sure.

I like photography - but i’m not that great at it just yet. I own a Canon 300D Digital Rebel, ancient history by today’s standards, but it does a decent enough job. Yay for interchangeable lenses and manual control over aperture, film speed and shutter speed!

I like music. More specifically making music. When I was a kid, my parents bought me a Edirol Sound Canvas, and I rocked it. I went on to write my opus. or something. I started picking up the piano by ear, and late in high school, the choir teacher handed me the school drumset over the summer and told me to come back with chops. which I did. Then there was that whole grunge thing in the 90’s with the guitars and the screaming, and the flannel. BUT THEN! I got into electronic stuff. I still play drums super often, and I spend my bits of downtime making beats and DJing in the back room. Someday I might even post something.

I like media. After 9/11, I got laid off at IBM and decided to try my hand at music production as a living, went to school and everything! Turns out that unless you’re single, have no house, car, or assets, and willing to move to Nashville, LA, Austin, or New York, you’re not very marketable. But hey, i’ll just add “Can produce, record, edit, and master your hit record” to my resume. I’ve also kind of gotten into video editing, and some motion graphics, but nothing too fancy yet. I’ll save that for yet another career change.

I’m a believer. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that God loved us so much, that he sent HisĀ  son to die on the cross for every sin imaginable (or unimaginable) that we have, are or will ever commit. I’m still learning what this means in the context of my life, and how God is going to use me for his glory. It’s been an interesting ride so far, ups AND downs, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
