The Governor’s Cup

The Governor’s Cup

This is a place of many happy memories. Settled in the heart of downtown Salem, The Governor’s Cup (also referred to as The Guv, or the GC) is one of those places you go where you recognize the regulars. There are the philosophy people, the people that are constantly playing chess, the old folks, and the students. The kind of place where if you bring your own cup, you can use it, give to them and they’ll put it up on the wall for you to use when you come the next time. If you’re lucky, you’ll come on a day when Kevin is hard at work roasting bean in the big Probat roaster.

I have played many a show here, and seen many a show here. Many a time i’ved been nestled upstairs in a dark corner with my loose leaf tea, and a laptop making beats, or mixing a song. This fine evening finds us sipping a single shot mint mocha and blogging, while Carey sits beside me doing a Bible study, and writing in her paper journal.
