Fuzzy Beans
by chris ~ July 31st, 2007. Filed under: Cooking, Family.Hadn’t grilled anything for a few weeks, so I threw together a impromptu steak dinner. I gotta remember to clean the grill better before I put it away, I about lost it this time cleaning the mold and crap off of it. And I fired it up and baked everything for about 15 minutes to clean everything. Our neighbors came back from their vacation and gave us some of their green beans from their garden. They were wierd, all fuzzy like peaches. funny. I precooked these in the micro about 8 minutes, and sauteed them with some baby bellas in butter and EVO. I’ve been cooking with a bottle of Gewürztraminer that my sister gave to me, and had finished it off a couple of weeks ago. I went ahead and broke out the bottle of WVV Oregon Blossom ‘04 and was pleasantly surprised at how sweet it had gotten. I took a couple pulls off of it, and worked about a cup of it into the sautee with some garlic and it turned out amazing. That with a couple of steaks and a few ears of corn. mmm. Hit the spot.
Maren has been perfecting her mean face. “Daddy, can I have some Whoppers?”. “No, sweetie, it’s too late. Maybe tomorrow.” “I SAY I WANT SOME WHOPPERS!!”. *scowls*. so funny. I mean, we have to discipline her sometimes because of it, but it’s still amusing watching her get all hoighty toighty. She’s been bugging us for WEEKS to get her some high heel shoes, so we dropped by the Salvation Army today and picked her up some $2 size 7 black heels, which of course don’t fit her at all, but she ADORES them. Cheap entertainment is good.
