Soooo Tired…
by chris ~ July 15th, 2007. Filed under: Church, Music.I feel like I’ve been going since 7am this morning. Oh that’s right, I HAVE. I knew today was going to be insane. I really need to start keeping track of my week better. iPhone? Maybe it’s time. I somehow triple booked myself today, covering for Tim on the sound board this morning, then immediately after that, running a video interview session until 4:30, and then playing in a worship band at another church from then until 7:00. bleah.
Things that I liked about today: Maren’s cute pink sweater. Doug’s cute little kid about Maren’s age. Eating strawberries off the plant this morning before I left. Eating blackberries off the vine when I came back home this evening. Chopping celery and carrots and dipping them in homemade ranch dressing. Making snowcones for Carey and Maren. Taking a nap on the couch.
Things that I didn’t like so much: Cramps in my calves and blisters on my hands from lack of drumming practice. Even without practice, I can rock the house though. My stupid ears still trying to even themselves out after the Septoplasty. I swear 85dB sounds like 95dB, and I can only tell by looking at the sound meter. Got complements on my mix today though. Lack of food. Total food intake today? 1 biscuit, a peanut butter sandwich, a hotdog, a Slurpee, a handful of berries, and a handful of carrots and celery. sheesh. I could do with a nice ribeye right about now.
The Blackies came by yesterday to sort out their mail and all, and got to visit with the ‘rents. I knew mom and dad would dig ‘em, they’re really nice people. Their short term goal is to (possibly) retire in a few years, and they’ll either move back, or they’ll buy a sailboat and sail around the world. I’d vote for the latter, myself. They did say something about “sorting out what to do about the house” after that, but they’re not sure. I actually like this property allot, and would consider buying it, given where I’m going with the church.
I’m seriously at a place where I could use another 2 days of the week, or at least someone to handle some of it. I’m thinking next year that we really need a full time publications person, and that we’ll have to start looking. Knowing that LBCC has a really good graphics arts program, I may start there and see if we get any bites. Anyway, I really want someone who can focus on publications and graphics, and who can generate media, freeing me up to focus on video projects, and the larger picture of Morning Star’s communications package.
Anyway. Time for bed.
